The site

The Roman Baths at Bath are among the best-preserved thermae of the ancient world, built by the Romans around a natural hot spring in what is now England. Occupied from roughly 60 to 400 CE, the complex channeled steaming spring water into pools and bathing halls. Standing on its worn flagstones, one glimpses a rare, well-preserved example of Roman public bathing engineering.
