The site

Gavrinis is a small island in the Gulf of Morbihan in Brittany, France, home to a Neolithic passage tomb raised around 3500 to 3000 BCE. It ranks among the oldest surviving buildings on Earth, and the stones lining its passage and chamber are densely carved with megalithic art. Explorers place it alongside Barnenez in Brittany and Ireland's Newgrange as a masterwork of Neolithic construction.
