The site

The Ring of Brodgar is a Neolithic stone circle in Scotland, raised between roughly 2500 and 2000 BCE. Twenty-seven of its original sixty or so stones still stand within a wide rock-cut ditch, commanding the Orkney landscape as part of a wider ceremonial complex alongside the Stones of Stenness and the tomb of Maeshowe. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it remains one of Britain's most imposing prehistoric monuments.
