The site
Casas Grandes, also called Paquimé, is a city in Chihuahua, Mexico, associated with Ancestral Puebloan traditions and occupied roughly 1130 to 1450 CE. Its multistory adobe dwellings, plazas, and water channels mark it as a major trading center linking the American Southwest with Mesoamerica. The scale and craftsmanship of Casas Grandes earned it inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
