The site

San Agustin Archaeological Park in southern Colombia is a sprawling necropolis and sanctuary of the San Agustin culture, which flourished here roughly between 100 and 900 CE. Its most striking feature is the concentration of monumental stone statues and carved tombs scattered across the green hills. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it preserves one of the richest fields of megalithic funerary sculpture in the Americas.
